I've read that charleston jetty is better, but we will be sticking to the pier with our pots. Seems like pier fishing is the name of the game, generally best done during the winter months, (hint hint), from what i also understand is the more light shining into the water the better therefore i am thinking along ferry docks/piers? For jetty fishing i just use my salmon bobber rod or an old 8'6 no name combo heavy spinning setup that is over 20 years old now I wouldn't spend a ton on a rod and reel for a one time deal It will get banged up crawling around on the rocks
