Dollar tree announced on wednesday that it had saved 170 shops that were set to be shuttered by rival 99 cents only after it went bankrupt. 99 cents only had filed for bankruptcy in april and closed all of its 370 locations. The operators of 99 cents only stores said late thursday that they would close all 371 locations.

The deal to acquire the leases was completed in may, but the reopening of stores, which will sell both 99 cents only products and dollar tree products, will begin in the fall. Dollar tree will reopen these stores with its own products under its brand beginning in the fall 99 cents only stores will close all 371 of its stores and wind down its business operations after more than four decades, the city of commerce discount chain announced thursday.
With stores across california, texas, arizona, and nevada, this discount chain is bidding farewell as it prepares to shutter all 371 locations.
